The Regional Center for Community Development and Environment (CRDCM) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, founded in October 2010 and whose purpose is "to contribute to the prevention of environmental degradation and to improve quality of life by creating the conditions for cultural and social progress ".
One of the objectives of the organization is "the preservation and recovery of Romanian folk traditions, identification, inventory, research, preservation, restoration, maintenance and sustainable exploitation of cultural heritage in order to ensure democratic access to culture and cultural heritage transmission to future generations"
Products:
• Fabrics and articles embroidered / crocheted Tradional Romanian style: rugs, towels, carpets, embroidered tablecloths, embroidered handkerchiefs, crochet table runners
• Household articles: wooden spoons, forks, plates, picture frames;
• Ceramics;
• Items made of willowr: baskets, slippers;
• Objects of worship: icons
The products will be produced by craftsmen and will be sold through its online store and hotels in Craiova.
Buyers will mainly be owners of guesthouses and B&Bs with a traditional appeal.
Other potential customers are foreign tourists staying in hotels Craiova, and
Romanians living abroad who wish to collect or buy Romanian traditional products.
The main resource is represented by the local artisans in the region, whether or not they own a shop. We offer encouragement, especially to those craftsmen who are not certified and whom we will assist in obtaining the necessary certifications to sell these products.
Our organization has the necessary electronic equipment and will co-opt volunteers (IT specialists and accounting) to launch the business.
Products will be sold at prices set by craftsmen, taking into account the market prices for similar products.
Transportation costs will be reflected in the final cost of the product.
The social nature of the business is assured by the fact that the craftsmen will receive the price set by them for the products sold. Our online store is actually a website promoting Tradional Romanian crafts and objects, created in order to help support Tradional craftsmen so that they get income from manufacturing products.
The social character is reflected by the support our organization will provide
to craftsmen who are certified / licensed in obtaining the necessary certification documents.
