The Rroma organization of Brickmakers was founded in 2000 with the goal of representing the rights of Rroma and their integration into the Romanian society by assisting with their integration into the job market.
At the moment, there are about 2000 members.
The goal of the organization is to:
- Further develop their economic activities to sustain the development of the social enterprise and provide social services for people Roma and disadvantaged persons
- Provide business development opportunities for the Rroma people and disadvantaged persons
The workforce is provided by the Rroma community craftsmen.
To start production the organization needs a willow drying and storage place located in the Rachitei commune, as well as the necessary tools and equipement and firm contracts with private individuals or companies.
We aim to promote equal participation of women and men belonging to Roma and other vulnerable groups in society by promoting integration into the local labor market. We will create jobs in different fields, by promoting and supporting social economy activity type.
The Rroma Bricksmakers organization produces twine garden furniture and wicker basketry.
The main distribution markets will be ensued through the partnerships established by the organization with companies from Italy and other EU countries, with the mention that williow furniture will be produced on demand. The marketplace will be extended by developing a network of willow-making centers all over the country and distribution of the products in neighboring countries.
