UK Ambassador Romanians will be treated as any other European citizens in 2014
British Ambassador Marin Harris stated in an interview for gandul.info that starting in 2014 the Romanians and Bulgarians will be treated just like any other European citizens on the British labor market, pointing out that labor market restrictions will be lifted at the end of 2013.
Martin Harris also talked about the case of singer Alexandra Stan, stating that Romania and Great Britain are good partners in social issues and can jointly do more in what concerns domestic violence.
Harris added that the privatization of state-owned companies in Romania did not represent a perfect process, pointing out that it would be better for there to be more bidders, more investors, more international interest.
“On no account I believe that what we saw was a perfect process, and it would be better to see more actors, more companies involved, more international investors that would enter Romanian companies,” Harris said.
Nevertheless, the British Ambassador stated that he is a big supporter of the agreement Romania has with the IMF, pointing out that a new agreement would be very useful for supporting reforms, economic stability and the relationship that Romania has with foreign partners.
